we would see a change in the issues at hand. Same goes for George Walker Bush, no junior about it.
Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti is his formal Arabic name ....
Hussein his given name ... the name of the father passed to the son.
al-Tikriti is the name of the largest city near where Saddam was born,
Tikrit, ergo the use of
al-Tikriti honors the name of the homeland of his birth.
The village where Saddam was born was, and still is, al-Auja,
also being spelled in the media as Al Aouja.
Nor is it uncommon for Near Easterners
to have only a given name and
no family name. In this century, regional
