to become a reality in America.
He calls himsElf a Democrat, for which I forgive him.  He is from Ohio.

The Day America Died
Uncle Sam Succumbs to Heart Failure

Dateline: USA - According to published reports, Uncle Sam, famous patron
of the USA, died during his sleep last night from heart failure arising
from complications of a two year bout with greed and arrogance.
His widow, Lady Liberty, went into seclusion and refused to speak
with the press. He is survived by two sons Dr. Jekell a resident of
Fairfield, Iowa and a Mr. Hyde of Crawford, Texas Sources close
to the family confirmed that Uncle Sam did, in fact, die of a broken
heart. It is reported that two years ago, Mr. Hyde, a successful oil man
from Texas, was able to use his money, influence and family connections
to orchestrate hostile takeover of the family business and have himself
appointed as executor of Uncle Sam's extensive estate.  Using well known
tactics from European leaders in the 1930's, Mr. Hyde and his family were
able to create and capitalize upon a family crisis in September, 2001
which allowed him to galvanize support for the hostile takeover.
Taking this as a personal mandate, he appointed a Mr. Midge from
Pennsylvania as head of faterland security and Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam
were promptly placed under house arrest.  People around the world were
shocked by the ease with which the takeover occurred and even more
shocked by the bold and blatant steps the Hyde family has taken
to consolidate it's power.

According to sources close to the family, Lady Liberty is very ill.
Two of the vice-presidents of Mr. Hyde's company, notably Mr. Bumsfield
and Mr. Rainy, are suggesting that, in spite of her health, Lady Liberty
poses a security risk and should be put on trial under a new law passed
by Hyde's rubber-stamp legislature which has granted him vast new
powers.

The Hyde family has planned an "awe inspiring" patriotic funeral for Uncle
Sam which, they say will be brief, spectacular and painless. Lady Liberty
and the Jekell family will not be attending the public performance. They
said that they preferred to remember Uncle Sam in the quietness of their
homes with a simple prayer and a candle.

Well known political commentator, Thomas Paine, of the Emperor's Clothier
Institute in Philadelphia, PA., contends that the whole affair is simply a
ruse and that Uncle Sam is in fact still alive. According to Paine, Uncle
Sam was whisked away from the hospital during the night by one of Dr.
Jekell's sons and has been reunited with Lady Liberty and they are both still
alive and in hiding in a small town in New England, not far from the Canadian
border.  According to Paine, the Jekell family is in constant communication with
Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty and are preparing to reestablish the rightful
ownership of the Sam estate once the public funeral is over and everyone
realizes the extent to which the family fortune has been plundered by Mr. Hyde
and his company. Millions of people around the world poured into the streets
upon receiving news of the death of Uncle Sam, some with shouts of anger
at the hostile takeover by the Hyde family and others in silence,
with a candle and a prayer for renewal. One thing that all agree on, however,
is that these are extraordinary times and the world is in the midst of
tremendous change.

Mr. Paine offered the best analysis as a final statement: "Mr. Hyde has
breached all of the sacred and accepted principles that Uncle Sam held so
dear. This indeed is one of the darkest times that America has ever faced;
equaled - if not greater - than the 1860's, the 1940's and the 1960's. But
Uncle Sam weathered them all, and he will weather this as well. Mr. Hyde is
having his day and he is unknowingly performing the important role of
bringing all of the family skeletons out of the closet. Everyone throughout
the world can see these skeletons for what they are. After the patriotic
public funeral is over - his own family will begin to see them as well. On
that day, a new America will be born, Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty will return
home and the USA will rejoin the family of nations and offer a leadership
based on respect rather than fear; on morality rather than military might.
That day will mark the beginning of a new world.

whether or not it becomes law is dependent on whether we, the people of the
United States, take the time to make phone calls, lobby our Congresspeople,
and in other ways create the political will to make it happen.

Please join us, either in Washington D.C. for the bill's introduction and
our initial lobbying campaign, or in your local area, as we blanket every
Congressional district with a strong message of support for a Department of
Peace.

Let us stand as passionately for peace, as some now stand so passionately

WHAT IT IS:

The Department of Peace focuses on individual and group responsibilities
for establishing nonviolence as an organizing principle in society. The
Department would focus on nonmilitary peaceful conflict resolutions,
prevent violence and promote justice and democratic principles to expand
human rights.

Domestically, the Department would be responsible for developing policies
which address issues such as domestic violence, child abuse, mistreatment
of the elderly, and other issues of cultural violence. Internationally, the
Department would gather research, analyze foreign policy and make
recommendations to the President on how to address the root causes of war
and intervene as or before they begin, while improving national security,
including the protection of human rights and the prevention and
de-escalation of unarmed and armed international conflict.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

I. COME TO THE GLOBAL RENAISSANCE ALLIANCE CONFERENCE IN
WASHINGTON D.C. ON APRIL 6-8.
During our conference we will hold seminars on Non-Violent Principles and
Civics/Lobbying Training, led by Marianne Williamson and Lynn McMullen
along with a presentation by Congressman Kucinich on the Department of
Peace legislation. In addition, we will travel together to the Capitol to
lobby our representatives. It is particularly important that as many people
as possible come to this event in order to lobby our Congress people on
April 8 when the bill is "dropped." There is no political act more powerful
than actually meeting with your Congressperson. Set a meeting with your
Member of Congress for April 8th. You can visit www.renaissancealliance.org
to learn more about how to set a meeting with your representative and to
register for the conference.

II. If you cannot come to Washington SET UP A MEETING IN YOUR HOME DISTRICT
WITH YOUR CONGRESSIONAL OFFICE on April 8th. Recruit as many people as you
can to attend this meeting with you. Doing this, we will blanket the nation
with meetings in support of the bill, both in DC and beyond. Our goal is a
meeting with every single member of Congress or members of their staff, so
we need people from every Congressional district in the country to come
forward and help.

III. GET AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO CALL, FAX AND EMAIL YOUR
REPRESENTATIVE on April 8th. Your job between now and April 8 is to make
sure that everyone has the name and phone and fax number of their
Congressperson (easy to find...visit www.Congress.org ), and to call them
on April 7 to remind them to make the call. It is a good idea for you to
keep a list of the people who have agreed to call and the needed numbers in
case they misplace the contact information.

IV. PRINT FLYERS
Available on the GRA website at http://www.renaissancealliance.org/
Hand them out at Peace marches and post them in coffee houses,
universities, churches, bus stations, staff break rooms, everywhere you can
think of!

As soon as Congressman Kucinich "drops" the bill, we will post its number
on our website. Between now and April 8, e-mail as many people as you can,
giving them the information about the Department of Peace lobbying effort.
Ask them to help us!

Most importantly, FOLLOW UP. It is not enough to merely let people know
that the legislation is being introduced; our job is to lobby for it, so
that it passes. Congress is a reactive body, but if our Congress people do
not hear from us directly, then there is nothing for them to react to.

Please send us an email at peace@renaissancealliance.org and let us know
you will be a DOP Activist Leader. This means you will adopt your Member of
Congress and stay with this process for the duration of this legislative
session. You will be contacted within a week, to follow up. We will give
you a new action each month to forward the bill. On the GRA website you
will also find many additional ways in which you can participate in your
community on an ongoing basis-- to help educate, speak up, and lobby for
this important legislation.

There is much to do, to change the direction of our country. Each of us can
make a difference. The time to do it is now.

violence, guns, racial or ethnic violence, violence against gays and
lesbians, and police-community relations disputes.

-Sponsor country and regional conflict prevention and dispute resolution
initiatives, create special task forces, and draw on local, regional, and
national expertise to develop plans and programs for addressing the root
sources of conflict in troubled areas;

-Provide for the training of all United States personnel who administer
post conflict reconstruction and demobilization in war-torn societies;

-Sponsor country and regional conflict prevention and dispute resolution
initiatives, create special task forces, and draw on local, regional, and
national expertise to develop plans and programs for addressing the root
sources of conflict in troubled areas.
