A memorial service was held January 27, 2006 for Jonathon Lee Schive,
of Eugene, Oregon, who died January 17th from injuries suffered in a pedestrian train accident.
He was 24 years old. Jon Schive was born on May 24th, 1981 in San Diego to Linda and Will Schive.
He lived in Eugene for 16 years and previously lived in San Diego. He won six medals for downhill skiing
in the Special Olympics, including five gold medals and one bronze. He enjoyed fishing, snow skiing, walking along
the river, animals, hiking and collecting crystals and rocks. He will be remembered by those who knew him as an outdoor adventurer.
Suvivors include his mother and step-father, Linda and Dan Fritz of Eugene; his father; a sister, Danielle Brosseau of Eugene,
a step-brother, Jim Fritz of Portland, and a grand-mother, Betty Hastings.
Friday's Service will be held at 3 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Eugene.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heeran Center, Laurel Hill Sweep, Eugene Mission or the Paul Wilson House.

We share this memorial here because Jonathon was a founding staff member of Good Works On Earth.
He also helped created the Register Guard's Star Art and so it is fitting to share his memorial with an art he helped make.
Jon has crossed the train tracks of light and sound and we miss our dear friend and son of his mother.
We honor the full year now past without Jon by our side by sharing a
bit of his story, and his death, in the name of the
Nation's State of Oregon's Senate Bill 363. Read that story within a bit of Jon's story above.
